to the Sound of soundless time
Spirit slowly harmonizing
in eternal Spirit Rhyme
Manyfest O thought sublime

't was Your voice that struck my being
With adventure's tempthing thrill
Fantasies your words were freeing
Though I cannot grasp them still
You evade and always will

Swirling and forever swirling
Is the vortex of your soul
Spinning 'round, freewheeling, whirling
Helplessly out of control
Losing purpose, losing goal

Yet, how deeply I adore thee
Entity from realms unnamed
Permeate, contain, explore me
By your touch my fire is tamed
And you never will be blamed

I will open all my senses
To the tune your spirit plays
And surrender my defenses
As my sorrow you erase
Was it seconds, was it days?

Mindless they will find me crawling
Seeking shelters long destroyed
Falling and forever falling

Erklärung

Nicht immer verbirgt sich ein reines Herz hinter einem liebreizenden Äußeren. Der tragische Held dieser Ballade, in der Tradition von Shakespeares Tragödien, lässt sich auf ein Abenteuer der Verführung ein und gerät in die Fänge eines zerstörerischen Strudels in Menschengestalt. Erst als er alles verloren hat, sein Hab und Gut, sein Herz, und zuletzt auch seinen Verstand, kann er sich lossagen und erfährt, dass selbst auf dem Grund und Boden, den die Liebe verriet, noch wahres Glück gefunden werden kann. Wie der legendäre Phoenix kann sich nun auch er aus verbrannter Erde zu neuem Leben aufschwingen.
